Mototechnics was born in Leicester in May 1992, believe it or not, our first job was to paint a Centurion tank for Marconi Radar and Control Systems! Six other tanks and various weapons control systems followed! More importantly, we won the contract to service the Marconi fleet of over 60 vehicles. Fleets contracts for Oliver shoes, Swiss Cottage, Shoefayre, British Transport Police and Catering Partnerships soon followed.

In 2008 we were given the opportunity to move to Coalville to refurbished premises equipped with new lifts and a new MOT bay. We have complimented the move by purchasing new tools and diagnostic equipment. We all live locally, if we feel like a little exercise, we can walk to work!

Richard Thomas: Passed Motor Vehicle Technology at Loughborough College in 1980 with a distinction. Worked for Lotus on both road and race cars including cars for Ayrton Senna, Elio de Angelis and Nigel Mansell. Took a degree in motor vehicle engineering whilst at Lotus. Richard joined Midland Car Sales. Leicestershire's Lotus and TVR dealer and became Service Manager at the age of 22. Over 30 years in the trade has given Richard vast experience of working with vehicles from all the major manufacturers.

Richard Walne: Passed Motor Vehicle Technology at Loughborough College in 1995. He worked for a main Vauxhall dealership later moving to maintain coaches for a Ashby de la Zouch company. Richard joined MotoTechnics in 1997 and has amassed over 20 years in the trade.

Took my BMW 3 series here twice to fix oil leak 23 & 24.Told me they knew how to do it. sadly they failed twice…Used to be a good garage! Yes the car was booked for mot/ service & address the oil leak. I even referred to to previous visit and said that you needed to address oil cooler washers. You could have given me the option of mot & i could have come in back for oil leak & service! Now I will have oil on my drive for more months!

Had my bumper repaired after a driver went into the back of me. Booked it within two weeks, they had the car for two days and it looks like brand new! Very pleased with the job done!!

Cant praise these guys enough! Over probably a month or more they had my car numerous times and went out of the their way to always get me the courtesy car, as i needed one for work. Theyve now found the fault and fixed it at a very reasonable price. Would recommend them to anyone.

So the recovery service said it could only be a carbon build up in inlet manifold/ports and advised it should be removed & cleaned also check & clean ports & valves - so after finding a local garage that could actually do the job we booked it in only to find out that in actual fact the first turbo had gone and also possibly the second one - they were honest with us and said how much it was likely to cost & how long it would take them as they were quite busy & true enough they were right, they fixed the problem and the car runs brill - they even washed and valeted it which was an added surprise - well done guys and thanks for doing a great job!!
