Ian diagnosed the electrical fault in our car within an hour and explained it clearly to me, and what could be done about it. He turned up on time and charged a fair price relative to other quotes that I’d received. Another car electrician did not identify the issue. Thanks Ian!

We asked Ian to call to our house as he said he diagnoses and repairs cars and is mobile. It had intermittent problems starting. He diagnosed faulty wiring behind dashboard and wrote a brief report confirming this exact diagnosis. There is no mention of it being the starter motor or anything else in his report. He then said the dashboard needed removing but it was too big a job for him and suggested we keep using it till it broke completely! He then charged £65 cash as he does not accept a card payment (i assume this is so you cant then claim the payment back when you find out he's totally misdiagnosed the fault and you have paid for nothing). The car broke down again the next day. Ian had given us a telephone number of another mechanic who he said could do the work. We called him and he told us we had wasted our money as he would need to diagnose it himself before he could mend it. We called the AA instead and they advised us that the starter motor meeded replacing. We got it to a garage and it was the starter motor that had broken, there was no faulty wiring, the wiring was all fine. We contacted Ian to tell him that in his written report he had misdiagnosed the fault and to ask for our money back, as anyone would do when they have paid for nothing. He asked us to send a copy of the garage repair receipt so that he could call the garage to check out what had been repaired. Ian has had confirmation that his diagnosis was completely wrong but, despite this, he has refused to give us any refund at all despite us paying him for a completely incorrect diagnosis. Also if we had known he wouldn't be able to mend it and could only (incorrectly) diagnose it, we would not have booked him in the first place. Disappointing. Avoid and use a different company. Since leaving this review Ian has sent me quite a nasty text telling me that I am wicked for warning people to avoid using him and he hopes God forgives me. Interestingly he hasn't disagreed with anything I put in my review.

I called Ian when my car had an intermittent ignition issue. I dropped the car to him at 9am, and by 4pm the same day he had diagnosed the fault, and fitted a new part. He was very good in communicating the problem, and the costs, and the price was fair in my opinion. The fault has not recurred and the car starts first time every time now. I would use Ian again and recommend him to others.

Car wouldn’t start, contacted Ian and Ian came out very quickly. Ian pinpointed the issue, picked up the replacement part and fitted it very quickly. Ian was polite and prompt, and sorted the car out at a very reasonable price. I would 100% use Ian again and would recommend Ian.

Although Ian was unable to solve my airbag light problem he tried his absolute best. Arrived on time and was friendly and professional. I would thoroughly recommend Ian and will definitely call upon his services again.
